This project is a Futures Study (Foresight) to Egypt beyond COVID-19 in three sectors: Industry, Information Technology, Transportation and Supply Chains.The project is funded from Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt.
Since the project duration is 8 months only. The project focuses on only three important sectors.
Sectors
The sudden stop of factories in China will make a radical change to the planning of industry to move from the centralized low cost approach to decentralized approach in order to reduce risks.
These opportunities make it a necessity to modernize the industry and increase the local component and its added value in the final product. This can be achieved by promoting the research and development units in the factories and link them to research in Universities and national research centers.
Egypt can utilize its geographic location and to be the regional hub for transportation and supply chain as one of the alternate multiple sources of goods, energy and materials.
It is expected that the future global investment maps will focus on finding alternate sources for supplies. Egypt can capitalize on the good relations with European, African and Asian Countries to provide a provider and supplier networks to serve consumers in the region.
